Here I sit with my last shred of dignity, writing words that I'll sing that I could never speak. The only ones that seem to come out fluently are disappointment and crippling disbelief. I'm sorry.

Please give me grace I don't deserve. You only see the process but I'm a work in progress. I finally hate less the beating in my chest. My mind is still a mess but I'm a work in progress.

You always said that the truth will set me free and I know I will never be the perfect son but this is the only truth for me. I’m angry and I still feel alone. The house we lived in was never home. But I swear that you’ll finally see the man you prayed for me to be.

I'm letting go of the chains of yesterday. I refuse to live and die like a slave. The hardest part is letting go of everything that I have ever know. Kalen & Eric (God I can never do this alone. Make me stand tall. Breathe in my bones. Remind me when I forget who I am now and who I'm not yet.)
